Having been living in a world of pandemic and lockdown for more than a year, the world seems to finally achieve agreement on one thing, that the pandemic will not be vanquished anywhere until it is vanquished everywhere. When the vaccine became the hope of ending the worldwide pandemic, concern has been aroused towards the social issues related to vaccine.

Among the vaccine-related tags on Twitter, the discussion over #VaccinePassports and #Vaccinequity cause the most negative sentiment among people. As the new term entering the vocabulary in the era of pandemic, vaccine passports have been the focus of debate which opens around its ethics and accessibilities. The relatively high negative sentiment reflects the ubiquitous concern over the policy. And according to the wordcloud analysis of the tag, “freedom” and “privacy” may be the main considerations for people to raise their opposition to the policy.

COVAX, launched in April and co-led by Gavi, namely the Vaccine Alliance, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and the World Health Organization, is the vaccines pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator in response to this pandemic bringing together governments, global health organisations, manufacturers, scientists, private sector, civil society and philanthropy.
